Vladimir Nikolov orchestrator for The Artist
Arranger Vladimir Nikolov took part in the International Arrangers Workshop of the Metropole Orchestra in 2003, and ever since he has regularly worked as an arranger for the Metropole Orchestra and numerous other clients. As an orchestrator, he contributed to the huge success of The Artist by director Michel Hazanavicius. The Artist is a remarkable film about the end of the silent film era, starring Jean Dujardin, Bérénice Bejo and John Goodman. The film recently won a Golden Globe and five Oscars, one of them for the best music.
Vladimir Nikolov studied at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. Following his successful participation in the Arrangers Workshop, he arranged many jazz and fusion projects for the Metropole Orchestra (including Charles Mingus Tribute, concerts with Chaka Khan and Lilian Vieira), world music projects (Slobodan Trkulja & Balkanopolis, Wereldmuziekgala in De Doelen with Karsu Donmez, Sertab Erener, Andy Narrell & Karim Ziad, Eid ul-Fitr in the Concertgebouw, la Grande Nuit de Maghreb), pop projects such as the Beatles Symphony, In een ander licht with Stef Bos, concert and CD recordings with Ruben Hein, Noorderslag with C-Mon & Kypski and for the concert Films in concert.
