The society of Friends of the Metropole Orchestra was founded in 1996 to support a true cultural icon. The society of Friends provides additional financial support for the orchestra’s tours to Austria, Germany, Switzerland and the US and participated substantially in making the orchestra’s 60th anniversary an extra-special event. The DVD created for that jubileum is one example of the many cds and dvds that the Friends have undertaken to produce. These recordings are sold at Metropole Orchestra concerts the world over and can be ordered online on the order page (LINK).
The Friends also play an important role in bridging the gap between performers and their public.
